1.Where is the information center located in Manang District?
Visitors can get information from the information centre at the Manang Culture Museum in upper Manang.

2.Is it safe to drink water directly from the tap?
To ensure good health of the visitors', Safe Drinking Water Stations has been installed in major stops. They are: Tal, Bagarchhap, Chame, Pisang, Manang, Churi Letdar and Thorong Phedi. Use the system of “Safe Drinking Water” or water bottles and add iodine to treat drinking water.

3. What's the weather like?
As Manang lies in the rain shadow area it has harsh dry desert like climate. For more information please visit the weather section.

4.Are internet and email facilities available in Manang District?
Yes, you can always get connected with the world. There is one in Manang Village and one in Chame, lower Manang.

5. Are there any medical facilities in Manang?
Yes, there is a health post in each and every village. ACAP clinic and Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) in Manang Village also provides medical facilities. There is a hospital in Chame – Manang district headquarter.

6. How much is the airport tax?
From Kathmandu or Pokhara to Humde, Manang airport - Rs. 170/-
From Humde, Manang airport to Kathmandu or Pokhara - Rs.  60/-

7. What are the visa procedures?
Entry Procedures Visa Rules
Gratis visa for all tourists who visit Nepal for 3 days or less. Gratis visa for tourists of SAARC countries and People's Republic of China.
Visa Fee:
Single entry - US$ 30 days for 60 days
Multiple entry - US$ 50 + US$ 30.
Visa will be extended subsequently for 30 days each upon payment of US$ 30 for a maximum period of 150 days in a visa year (Jan-Dec). Visa can be obtained either on arrival in Nepal or from Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or other Mission offices abroad. Two passport size photographs required. Indians do not require visa to visit Nepal. However, they require to be in possession of any one of the following documents while travelling between the two countries.
  • Valid national passport
  • Photo identity card issued by the government of India/any State Government or Union Territory/Administration in India/Identity Cards issued by the Election Commission of India. (Except Tatkal Identity Cards issued by the Ministry of Railways).
  • Children between 10-18 years age group are allowed to travel by air on the strength of a passport or photo identity card issued by the Principal of their school or college.
  • Emergency Certificate issued by Embassy of India, Kathmandu to Indian nationals in case of emergent conditions.
  • Children up to the age of 10 years will not require the above-mentioned documents for travelling between India and Nepal, by air.

8. What public transportation is available to get to the Humde airport?
You can get to Humde airport by helicopters or planes. But there is bus service till Besisahar of Lamjung District. It takes 6 hrs by bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar. 9. Are there any banks or money changers in Manang District?
There is a Nabil Bank at Chame, lower Manang and you can exchange Dollars and Euros at Hotel Yeti in Manang Village and Traveler in Braga Village.

10. Where is the office of Tourism Entrepreneurs Association of Manang situated?
The Tourism Entrepreneurs Association of Manang (TEAM) office is in Chame, lower Manang.

11. What is the cost and where can we get permit for Nar and Phu?
In addition to the ACAP entry permit, a special permit is required to visit Nar and Phu Valley. The permit is US $ 90 per week for September to November and US $ 75 per week for December- August. You can get the permit from the immigration office in Bhrikuti Mandap near Nepal Tourism Board (NTB)
